Looks like Meizu’s founder is in a spree to leak information of its upcoming smartphones. Jack Wong Aka Huang Zhang, has confirmed more news on its Meizu 16 series handsets on a forum post. The iterative successor to Meizu 15 will be coming in two variants. Where one will come with a Snapdragon 845 SoC and second will come with a Snapdragon 710 SoC.
Meizu 16: Does it makes sense?
Not long ago in April, Meizu introduced its 15th-anniversary edition smartphones, Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus handsets. It has not even been three months, and Mr. Wong has confirmed the existence of Meizu 16 series phones. Even before completing its 16th year, the company is getting ready to make these new phones official by August this year.
Of course, that doesn’t make sense, but that’s how the mobile industry works. The new products keep coming in with upgraded technologies. Its basic demand and supply rule. With companies like Vivo, and Xiaomi already out with its latest flagship handsets with the top of the line specifications, Meizu felt its need to upgrade its line-up.
Talking about the Meizu 16 specifications, it should come with a taller 18:9 aspect ratio display. It will supposedly come with a dual-rear camera setup. Further, the company could introduce in-display fingerprint sensor on one or both of the variants. Considering Vivo NEX and Xiaomi Mi 8 SE comes packed with new fingerprint sensor technology.
