Xiaomi has just confirmed that its first global launch event will take place on July 24 in Spain. The event is largely thought to be the launch of the Mi A2 even as Xiaomi has remained mum about the product of the event. Incidentally, many noteworthy leaks of the Mi A2 have emerged from Spain. Chief example of that is the leaked Mi A2 YouTube video that spilled the beans on the complete device. However, it was taken offline shortly after going live.

Xiaomi is already taking registrations for the event and the last date is July 18th. Spanish citizens have to head to Xiaomi’s Spain website to get their seat booked online. There will be an “incredible gift” awaiting attendants of the event says the event booking page. After the ticket is booked, attendants will be approached by Xiaomi via email.

Xiaomi declared the launch date through its Spanish MIUI forums today. The confirmation comes after the company kicked off the Mi Explorer Program in Spain and said that the event would be held between July 23rd to July 25th. The Mi A2 has long been lingering on the horizon waiting for a launch. The handset is expected to be priced higher than the Note 5 Pro in India. The base variant on the Note 5 Pro costs Rs 14,999, so the handset can be priced very well around the Rs 16,999 mark. That is speculative but understandable as the A2 comes with marginally better specifications than its Redmi Note counterpart.
