It was a big day for Xiaomi as the brand launched not one but three key products across different segments in China. There were hints that Xiaomi was ready to surprise people at the launch of the Mi Mix 2s event and it did. The company launched its first ever gaming laptop called Mi Gaming Laptop.
The laptop comes with a pretty simple and neat design devoid of any branding or logos, unlike most other laptops. It weighs in at 2.7 kgs and the measured thickness is 20.9mm. The new gaming machine from Xiaomi has a 15.6-inch Full-HD screen with narrow bezels. The audio also seems promising with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio 2 x 3W speakers. Gamers are also provided with a lot of ports like HDMI 2.0, USB Type-C, Ethernet and USB 3.0.
The Mi Gaming Laptop has four variants. It starts with an i5 processor combined with GTX Ti 1050, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and 1TB HDD. The other variant has a more potent GTX Ti 1060 but will cost an extra 1,000 Yuan. Add another 1,000 Yuan for a Core i7 CPU. The high-end variant comes with the Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and 1TB of HDD.
Mi Gaming Laptop also houses a rapid cooling system given such powerful hardware. Xiaomi has a special TORNADO mode which kicks in at the press of a button and can drop temperature up to 5 degrees in just 10 minutes. The Mi Gaming laptop has a professional keyboard with 5 programmable keys.
According to CEO Lei Jun, the buttons can be pre-programmed to order favourite food at just one press of the key.
The Mi Gaming Laptop’s price starts at 5,999 Yuan ($956) for the Core i5 + GTX 1050 Ti model. Are you in love with this laptop already? Let us know in the comments section below. Stay tuned to Mr. Phone and download our app to get the latest updates from the world of smartphone technology.
