Xiaomi’s next most anticipated budget phone after the Redmi 6 is the Mi Max 3. While there is a lot we unofficially know about the device, thanks to its listing on TENAA, we just got to see the box that it will come with it. And this is from an official source, so there’s no ifs and buts here. Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun is known for letting out stuff regarding prospective devices. Hence, there is a picture of the official retail box of the phone out before its launch.
Mi Max 3: Ready to retail
Granted, a retail box doesn’t say anything, but this is a first confirmation from the company that the Mi Max 3 is coming soon. Hence, we could see a launch date being declared soon. Lei Jun also said that they have been discussing how the proceedings of the Mi Max 3 launch event will take place. Moreover, the top Xiaomi official has also confirmed the big battery and screen of the phone while answering fans comments, if that was already not obvious from TENAA’s listings.
The Mi Max 3 will definitely be a completely maximized phablet this year in the complete sense of the word with a 6.9-inch display and a 5,400mAh battery. As for the processor, there is somewhat confusion regarding the subject. Going by the previous history, Xiaomi uses Redmi Note hardware in its Mi Max series.
This year it should use the Note 5 Pro since the Note 5 isn’t much of an upgrade at all. That would suggest a Snapdragon 636 chip inside the huge phone. However, it could easily be something else like the Snapdragon 660 or even 710.
