After the launch of the Mi Mix 2s, the smartphone world has found some innovative breakthroughs leading to truly beautiful smartphones like the OPPO Find X and Vivo Nex. It’s no longer just Xiaomi’s turf anymore and it means that the Chinese phone maker will have to up its game if it wants to keep the Mix line relevant. This brings us to the next upcoming Mix series phone, the Mix 3. A couple of live images have hit the web today suggesting what’s in store for the bezel-less flagship that started it all.
Mi Mix 3: How does it look?
Looking at the image, we see the bottom of the device. Quite noticeably, the bottom bezel is one of the skinniest we’ve seen and although the image has blurred out the top chin, we can at least make out it is also bezel-free. This again leads to the subject of a retractable front cam that has been pictured in renders before. However, there has not been a single live image that has explicitly shown such a camera. With that, speculation shall still continue regarding the potential placement of the Mix 3 selfie shooter.
Another image shows the dual rear camera on the rear of the device. Some rumors earlier had pointed out to a triple-camera setup and if this image is authentic, that is not going to happen.
The Mix 3 is expected to debut in September even though the company still remains mum about it. As for core components, expect flagship hardware like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, Android Oreo, and a price of RMB 3,899 to match. It could also end up with an on-screen fingerprint reader on the device as OEMs scramble to integrate the new tech on their high-end phones.
There is still no word from Xiaomi regarding any of this which means we have still some time to go before the handset launches. Hopefully, we’ll have some official info next month.
