Microsoft Surface Duo - Feature Image

Foldables are a segment that gained a lot of traction in recent years. Major brands have either been developing or launched foldable of their own. The Surface Duo was Microsoft’s offering for the same. It was revealed in October last year, with the pricing unannounced. Recently the brand revealed the pricing and its detailed specifications. Let us discuss the same below, since it is quite an interesting product.

Microsoft Surface Duo Specifications

The Microsoft Surface Duo features two 5.6-inch OLED panels with resolutions of 1350*1800 pixels, which join together to provide an 8.1-inch PixelSense Fusion display with a resolution of 2700*1800 pixels with an aspect ratio of 3:2. The device features an 11-megapixel primary sensor towards the front. This is the only camera present on the device, something which is not common in 2020. In terms of performance, the device features last year’s Snapdragon 855, with 6GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.

As for the batteries, there are two separate batteries, which join together to provide an overall capacity of 3,577 mAh. This battery can be charged via a USB Type-C port. However, there is no 5G variant, which is regular for foldable as of now. The brand has also developed a dedicated stylus that performs functions similar to what the S-Pen does for Note series devices. Additionally, since it is a Microsoft product, one can use this device with full Windows 10 using Windows Virtual Desktop.

Pricing and Availability

The Microsoft Surface Duo will be limited to the US as of now and is available from $1399 (INR 1,04,600) the devices can be pre-ordered from AT&T, Best Buy, and Microsoft’s online store.
