Xiaomi’s constant plugging of the May 31 event makes us think that there are going to be some very important announcements that day. The conference will be held in Shenzhen where Xiaomi’s 8th-anniversary flagship is speculated to be the showstopper. Now, through their official Weibo account, the company has announced that we will also see the new version of their custom Android skin, MIUI 10.
The new version will be unveiled to the world on May 31st and will come pre-installed on the Mi 8.
MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo
MIUI 10 will be based on Android 8.1 Oreo but it would not arrive until after the summer on other Xiaomi devices. It will offer a renewed design, and make use of artificial intelligence while continuing to focus on improving performance.
In the new version of MIUI, we will have improvements in the notification centre, performance, and background processes for a better battery life.
One of the important aspects in MIUI 10 will be artificial intelligence. We have already seen how the Chinese manufacturer has increasingly given importance to the automated processes which learn from user usage patterns. With MIUI 10 we would have new settings and options, from camera to the battery optimization.
In the promotional image, we see the motto stating ‘Faster than lightning’, in clear reference to MIUI 10. Along with the Mi 8, we’ll get to see the Mi 7 and the Mi Band 3 too at the May 31st event.
