Moto G7 press renders leaked and passes FCC too, suggests Snapdragon 660 SoC

The Moto G7 is now the most anticipated smartphone from the company. After the mediocre sales of the G6 series, the company did manage to bounce back with the Moto One Power. Now, with the upcoming G7, the company hoping to capture back the market it lost to Xiaomi and Asus.

We recently covered a new Moto device passing the FCC, which was touted to be the Moto G7. As it turns out, the device is indeed the Moto G7. What’s more is that its two other variants have also passed FCC now.

Moto G7 passes the FCC

The two new smartphones feature the FCC IDs IHDT56XN3 and IHDT56XR3. While the IDs don’t disclose the names as such, it does denote that the models are made for different carriers and/or markets. 

As per the listing, the Moto G7 with 1965-3 ID will be available in Latin America, Western Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.  The XT 1965-4 variant will make its way to India, and XT 1965-6 in China. Additionally, the US and Canada will be getting the XT 1965-1 model. And last but not the least,  Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, will get Moto G7 XT 1965-2.

Moto G7 specs

Going by the FCC listing, the Moto G7 will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. There will be a 12MP camera up front for selfies, along with a 16MP+5MP sensor at the back. There is said to be 64GB of storage along with a 3,500mAh battery. As for ports, there will be a USB Type-C port at the bottom, with rumors suggesting it may also support wireless charging.

Apart from the specs, we also got a good look at the device in itself. Courtesy of leakster Ishan Agarwal, we now have a look at the press renders of the Moto G7. 

As you can see, the G7 will sport a teardrop notch at the top, similar to the Realme 2 Pro. However, the chin at the bottom is still too thick. On the back side, you get the signature Moto camera module. It is followed by the Motorola batwing logo with the fingerprint sensor embedded inside. 

Moto G7 price and availability

The Moto G7 is expected to be launched by the end of the year. It is expected to ship with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. As for pricing, there is no concrete word on it yet. That being said, going by the specs and Motorola’s prices for recent devices, it is safe to say that the Moto G7 will be priced within the 15K to 18K INR price bracket.
