The year is about to end and this might be the biggest surprise of the month, if not the year. Motorola P40, alleged successor to the P30 could be arriving with an in-display selfie camera. Following the brands like Samsung, Huawei, and Honor, Motorola was the unlikely adopter of this trend, but thanks to OnLeaks and 91Mobiles, we have learned that it may very well be a trend follower after all.
Motorola P40 design
Motorola’s P series didn’t hit many markets, but with the P40 the handset maker is believed to be introducing it to more markets in 2019. Fortunately for the Indian consumers, the Moto P series came to India in the form of Motorola One branding. And it may very well be the case again for next year.
The highlight of the phone is definitely the cut-out selfie camera design inside the display. The phones like Galaxy A8s, Nova 4, and V20 has already been out official in China, and the Honor is likely to bring the View 20 to India before the January 2019 ends. The Indian smartphone would hope to see Motorola introduce this phone soon.
Motorola P40 specs
As far as the display size is concerned, it will be coming with a 6.2-inch display. The punch-hole display design will give it a full-screen look without having to struggle with a notch. Talking about the bezels on the side, they look thin. Whereas the bottom bezel is relatively thick because it is housing the Motorola branding.
It will have a USB type-C port, a speaker grill, and a hole for the mic on the bottom edge. Fortunately, it is confirmed as per the report that Motorola would be retaining the 3.5mm audio jack, which could be positioned on the top edge.
Motorola seems to be going all trades in when it comes to the design of the P40. If you look at the rear-renders of the Motorola P40, it is believed to sport a 3D curved edge, which could technically allow a firm grip. The dual rear camera setup looks particularly a protruding one.
Almost all manufacturers seem to be fascinated by Sony’s large 48MP resolution sensor, which Motorola as well could be adding on its P40. Thus, following the suite of Huawei’s Nova 4 and Honor’s V20. Coming to the biometric features, it will still have a physical fingerprint sensor on the rear embedded in the Motorola logo.
That’s a hell of detail for the phone that is leaked for the first time. The Motorola P40 looks a promising entry to the company’s line-up next year.
