Motorola Razr reimagined with a 6.2-inch OLED foldable display

Motorola has done it! The company has brought back its iconic Razr brand, in the most viral way. The modern-looking Motorola Razr now comes with a dual-display design. It still folds, just like it used to, but now it opens up to a much larger screen. Ohh, yeah, there’s a display outside as well. Let’s find out more about the details of the new Motorola smartphone announced today in Los Angeles. 

Motorola Razr – Specifications 

Starting with a Flex view of 6.2-inch foldable pOLED, it has a resolution of 2142 x 876. The display opens up to a 21:9 aspect ratio, which is teased as a CinemaVision. There is an external display; 2.7-inch gOLED, which has a resolution of 600 x 800, and having a resolution of 4:3 aspect ratio. 

It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, which is an octa-core processor clocking at 2.2 GHz. As far as the RAM and storage are concerned, it comes with a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It will be running Android 9 Pie, which is probably running the stock experience. 

Speaking of the sensors, it has a fingerprint reader, accelerometer, magnetometer compass, gyro sensor, proximity, ambient, light, GPS, and Ultrasonics. It has a battery capacity of 2510 mAh. It has a fast-charging of 15W TurboPower. When unfolded it will have a thickness of 6.9mm, and when folded it will have a thickness of 14mm. The handset weighs 205 grams, which is slightly heavy, but it’s in the range of most flagship smartphones. 

The company claims a splash-proof water-resistant coating, which is good considering the dynamics of the device. It will be available in only one colour, Noir Black. Talking about the camera department, it will have a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, EIS, Dual Pixel autofocus, and dual-LED flash. The front camera setup includes a 5MP resolution sensor with an f/2.0 aperture size.       

As far as the audio experience is concerned, it will have a bottom ported speaker and 4 microphones for superb audio call quality and better voice reception for Google Assistant. The connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.0, eSIM, USB 3.0 type-C, NFC, standard wi-fi and location services.  

Motorola Razr – Price & Availability

The Motorola Razr will be retailing in the United States for $1500, which roughly translates to Rs 1,09,000 approximately. Soon, after the global launch in the States, the company’s India handle teased the phone in India as well. With no launch date specified, it could come before we hit 2020.
