Nokia has already released a refresh of last year’s products with the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1 and more. A couple of new handsets like the Nokia X6, and the Nokia 5.1 Plus are on their way. But if you thought Nokia was done, you’re wrong. A new Nokia 6.1 Plus is being prepared and evidence was found on the unlikeliest of places.
Google has its list of ARCore supported devices which it updates regularly. Right now, the Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco all play nice with AR software. But the latest update in the list was a Nokia 6.1 Plus. That is definitely surprising as this is a completely out of the blue device. Further, if you’re hoping we have some more surprises in the locker then you’d be disappointed. We have no clue as to what this new Nokia 6.1 Plus is all about.
However, judging from its model name, we can expect it to carry a thin bezel and even a notch design like the Nokia 5.1 Plus. It would be placed between the Nokia 7 and the Nokia 5.1 Plus which would make it a mid-range smartphone.
Also, no release dates are yet known about the handset but maybe Nokia could surprise us with a trio of products launches at a single event in the near future. If that doesn’t happen, then IFA 2018 is our next guess for the Nokia 6.1 Plus to show its real face.
