HMD Global has finally unveiled the Nokia 7 Plus, the Nokia 6 (2018), and the high-end Nokia 8 Sirocco in India. The company did mention at MWC 2018 that it would bring the three Android One smartphones to India in April. Much depends on the pricing strategy of Nokia in the country. So, here are the pricing and availability details.
Nokia 6 (2018)
The Nokia 6 (2018) is a follow up of last year’s Nokia 6 and comes with an overall upgraded spec sheet. It still features the old 5.5-inch Full-HD display covered by 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3. The processor is upgraded to the Snapdragon 630 chip with 3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB onboard storage. The dual SIM device also now has USB Type-C charging ports. The power source of the Android Oreo running handset is a 3,000mAh battery.
The handset will cost Rs 16,999 in India. It will be available starting from 6th of April both online and offline.
Nokia 7 Plus
The Nokia 7 Plus is a gorgeous head-turner besides being a great performer. The handset comes with a premium metal design and an offset white colour complete with copper edges and it looks stunning. There’s also a Black colour as well. Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. the Nokia 7 Plus camera setup consists of dual 12MP + 13MP while the front camera is a 16MP shooter. The handset comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike the Nokia 8 Sirocco. It also has slender bezels and a 6.0-inch ISP LCD Full-HD+ display. Again it runs stock Android Oreo backed by a 3,800mAh battery.
The Nokia 7 Plus is priced Rs 25,999 but introductory offers bring that down to Rs 23,999 Pre-bookings start on April 20 on Amazon as well as retail stores like Croma, Reliance, Poorvika, Sangeetha, and Big C as well as Nokia shops. While the handset will be on shelves from April 30.
As part of launch offers, Airtel subscribers can get Rs 2,000 off thus bringing the price down to Rs 23,999. No cost EMI is also an option for the handset with BajajFinServ cards and ICICI account holders can get 5% cashback until May 31, 2018.
Nokia 8 Sirocco
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is a true flagship from Nokia after its revival by HMD Global. It is the first dual curved screen Android device from the company. It comes with a stunning elegant glossy design that screams premium.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco boasts of a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) pOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Last year’s flagship Snapdragon 835 paired with 6GB of RAM is in the driver’s seat. The handset has a 3,260mAh powerpack situated under the chassis.
The Nokia 8 is surprisingly endowed with Zeiss-branded optics completely similar to the Nokia 7 Plus. While the front has a much subdued 5MP sensor.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco can be pre-ordered starting April 20 at the same places as the Nokia 7 Plus. The handset is priced Rs 49,999 and no cost EMI is offered through BajajFinServ and Home Credit.
As part of the launch, Airtel users can benefit from an extra 120GB of data. Both prepaid and postpaid customers get 20GB of additional data on specific plans. Moreover, Airtel is also offering a free extended subscription to Airtel TV until December 31, 2018.
