Nokia’s upper-mid-range handset, the Nokia 7 Plus is finally receiving stable Android 9.0 Pie, the company stated in a press release today. It becomes one of a rare breed of smartphones to be running Google’s latest OS beaten by OnePlus 6 that also received Android Pie a few days back. However, Nokia stuck to its promise of delivering the pie before the end of September, even as there were a few hiccups along the way.
As for what you get with the update, it should be clear that Nokia runs clean Android builds on all their 2018 handsets, hence users should see a pretty stock Android update soon. The company also sent a changelog along with the presser and below are the features they have mentioned in it.
Digital Wellbeing – a feature meant to keep users aware of their smartphone use habits. It has App timers, as well as DND, and Wind Down mode. It also has an Adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, and a new system navigation feature. There’s also something called App Actions that are unique to Android One devices. Basically, it’s a feature that learns from your usage habits and gives you useful suggestions. If you didn’t receive the update yet, fret not, as these OTAs come in stages. You should get it soon.
The Nokia 7 Plus launched in February and there are strong indications of a Nokia 7.1 Plus coming soon. However, the case of the Nokia 7 Plus just got a lot stronger for stock Android lovers.
