Nokia has had a successful first year on its return to the smartphone market. Thanks to HMD Global, the company has launched a plethora of devices that have been very well received. The company has launched plenty of devices primarily in China, but have launched their global variants later on. And now, it seems like another device might be on its way in a similar fashion.
Nokia X7 was recently launched in China, which is the company’s first device to come with the Snapdragon 710 SoC. Now, it seems like the global version of the device might be on its way. As reported by 91Mobiles, HMD Global is working its horses to launch the global variant of the Nokia X7. Branded as the Nokia 8.1, the device would be launching in India, as soon as later this month.
Nokia 8.1 specifications
As mentioned above, Nokia 8.1 is basically the global variant of Nokia X7. As such, the hardware is expected to be the same. Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC. It will be coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The device features a 6.18-inch FHD+ screen with a notch up top.
In the camera department, the device comes with a dual 13MP+12MP sensor on the back. There is also a 20MP shooter up front for selfies. The device is expected to ship Android 9 Pie out of the box. Powering the entire setup will be a 3,500mAh battery supporting fast charging thanks to the USB-C port.
Nokia 8.1 price in India
The Nokia 8.1 is expected to be priced at Rs. 23,999. The device will be taking on the likes of the Honor Play and the Poco F1. While being underpowered as compared to its competitors, Nokia’s build quality and swift OS updates could work in its favor. As for the launch, HMD Global is yet to send out any press invites.
