Nokia could be releasing a gaming smartphone as a new teaser suggests

Nokia Phoenix

Nokia has surprised a lot of people in the smartphone industry today after it posted a teaser of what we can only presume to be a gaming smartphone. The smartphone maker already has some hot stuff in the pipeline like the Nokia 9 with an industry-first Penta lens camera system and the rumoured Nokia X7. However, this is completely out of the blue.

The teaser is a very short video clip that isn’t very kind enough to give us even a few hints about any aspect of the handset. What we can see is just a droid shooting at a big mech robot. But, that doesn’t help at all. Also, there’s no dates or even teasers regarding any new features. However, the brand has urged viewers to stay tuned.

Now, Nokia could either do something like Honor and launch a budget handset with gaming capabilities or it could go full berserk and announce a ROG Phone competitor. Nothing is sure for now. The newfound gaming smartphone niche has become a new battle arena for smartphone OEMs as brands try harder than ever to capture market share and get more people to buy their phones.

Now that Nokia has set the ball rolling, we presume that we could see some information in this from the rumour mill soon. Stay tuned for more info. What do you think? Are you excited about the new Nokia gaming phone?
