While Nokia has refreshed it’s Nokia 2, Nokia 3, and Nokia 5 handsets this year in global markets, there seems to be particular interest in its China-specific product, the Nokia X6. Due to its big value for money factor, it is highly anticipated in India and other global markets. Now, we’re receiving first evidences that it will happen soon.
Nokia X6: Two variants might be introduced
Not one but two Nokia X6 models got Bluetooth SIG certification, all but confirming that a release outside China is near. This can hopefully follow a launch in other countries. The two global variants appeared as model numbers TA-1083 and TA-1116. The latter, in particular, has also been seen clearing Russian certification hurdles, as per Nokiapweruser.
Besides the Nokia X6, the Nokia 5.1 Plus which closely resembles the X6, and was thought to be the global variant of the Nokia X6, has also received Bluetooth certification. It has appeared with model number TA-1109. Now, it isn’t clearly written anywhere in the docs that the aforementioned model is the X5 Plus. However, this is the only Nokia handset in the low-end to mid-range category that is on the rumour radar.
It will feature a MediaTek chip if current reports are anything to go by. Besides CAD renders, there isn’t much to speak about the true calibre of the Nokia 5.1 Plus. And we suggest all this talk be taken with the proverbial pinch of salt as there is no official word about the handset.
The Nokia X6 is not exactly a new phone and sells for a starting price of CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs. 13,800). At that price, it offers a Snapdragon 636, a 5.8-inch Full-HD+ screen, dual cameras, Android 8.1 Oreo and 3,060mAh battery. We can imagine this giving the Redmi Note 5 Pro, and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 a run for its money.
