The OnePlus 5T had been the most awaited phone of the year, there were innumerable leaks and rumours about the handset before the launch. All this credit goes to the OnePlus 5 smartphone which has been a very well received and certainly raised the bar for the 5T edition.
The 5T model had great improvements compared to its predecessor and people appreciated the changes. Sadly, the device did not support HD videos on services like Netflix and Amazon Prime at the time of launch. Users were disheartened with the compromise they had to make for a mobile already costing $500. This limitation was also present on the OnePlus 5.
However, we have great news for those disappointed as the company has promised to come up with an update soon. The future update will enable Widevine Level 1 but there is a certainty to when the update will be rolled out. This is quite peculiar as to why the HD streaming wasn’t there on the phone since the beginning.
