As OnePlus had promised, they rolled out the Android 8.0 Oreo version to the OnePlus 5 devices. They wanted the update to come before the end of 2017 but due to some unspecified bug, the rollout was stopped.
But the company has started the OxygenOS 5.0.1 rollout to the users of the OnePlus 5. It would be important to mention that this update has arrived as a solution to the earlier one’s bugs. Along with the Oreo features, the phones will be updated to the December 2017 security patch and a new camera UI.
A word of caution to all the OnePlus 5 users is that the update will fail to install on your handset if you have an unlocked bootloader. So, in order to download the update, keep a backup of your files before you re-lock your bootloader.
