OnePlus caused quite a stir when it came up with the OnePlus 5T months after the launch of the OnePlus 5! Customers were distraught as they felt cheated by the way that the Chinese company had sought to release an update to an excellent device like the OP5. The company is all set to launch the next flagship in March next year and the rumor mill is churning out an interesting speculation about its fingerprint sensor. Brace yourselves as the OnePlus 6 is coming with an in-display fingerprint sensor!
OnePlus is famous for providing the fastest fingerprint sensors and keeping up with that tradition, they launched the OnePlus 5T with an impeccable sensor on its back. The bezel-less display was the reason behind moving the sensor from front to back and now, the company has come to realize that this positioning of the fingerprint sensor is somewhat uncomfortable for the people. The under-display sensor would not be the only major advancement since the alleged OnePlus 6 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 as well!
The Snapdragon 845 is the beast which will probably power all the major Android flagships next year and we are looking forward to its performance against Apple’s A11 bionic chip. This is not all since Xiaomi has already announced that the Mi 7 will release with the same processor and it will be interesting to see how these two revolutionary companies perform in the smartphone market!
Is OnePlus trying to compete with the mega-successful Xiaomi as well? It is evident that the company is ready to take on all the major players with its innovation and flagship killing devices. OnePlus 5T launched a direct combat with Apple since it was loaded with the Facial Recognition feature and the customer reviews, till now, have been pretty satisfactory regarding the same.
Qualcomm seems to be supporting the concept of in-display sensors since it is working with Synaptics, which has already announced that 70 million units of its under-display sensors will be available in 2018! While Vivo is already installing this advanced feature on its phones, it will be engaging to see how OnePlus 6 performs with such a technology. FYI, Vivo and OnePlus are sister companies and it is but obvious for them to share this feature by Synaptics.
The CES 2018 will also showcase the under-display sensor to the world but the OnePlus 6 would be the first device to launch with it. The phone will release in mid-March next year, according to a source.
