OnePlus 7 leaks suggest notch-less design with pop-out camera slider

OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus 6T McLaren Speed Edition, the special edition for their current flagship, the OnePlus 6T. However, the focus has now shifted on to the OnePlus 7. The company was at the Qualcomm event last year, where they announced that the OnePlus 7 would be one of the first smartphones to feature the new Snapdragon 855 chipset. As such, the device could arrive sooner than most expected. Which also means that the rumor mill is rife rather earlier this time around. We’ve previously talked about a OnePlus 7 leak, suggesting a circular camera module at the back. Now, we’ve got another leak on our hands, and this time, it could spell the dawn of a notch-less future for OnePlus.

OnePlus 7 leaks

A new leak of a OnePlus 7 prototype has now surfaced the web. The image shows an alleged prototype of the device in a tan case with no notch and an all-screen design. While it hasn’t been shown in the picture explicitly, the design suggests that OnePlus 7 could make use of a slider mechanism for the selfie cameras. This claim is further backed by the fact that both Oppo and Vivo, OnePlus’ sister companies, make use of similar designs. As seen previously on the Oppo Find X and the Vivo Nex. The leak also shows a rather massive earpiece, which, judging by its size, could double up as a stereo speaker. There’s also a grille above the display, with holes cut out for sensors.

OnePlus 7 specifications

As of now, not much is known about the upcoming smartphone from OnePlus. However, we do know that the OnePlus 7 will sport the latest Snapdragon 855 processor. While the 6 and 8GB variants are standard now, it wouldn’t be surprising if they launch a 10GB variant as well as the McLaren edition. The device could also be OnePlus’ first 5G smartphone.

OnePlus 7 price in India and availability

For now, there is no word on the pricing or the availability of the device. OnePlus usually launches its devices in the middle of the year, around May or June. However, with the claim of being one of the first smartphones powered by Snapdragon 855, we could see the OnePlus device sooner. As such, we can expect the device to launch earlier next year, probably by March. As for the price, the OnePlus 7 price could be near the $700 (~Rs. 50,000) mark.
