The COVID-19 or Coronavirus outbreak may have deterred many brands from launching their smartphones, however, the leaks surrounding OnePlus’ next flagships keep on coming in. While it’s anyone’s guess as to when the company will launch its next phones, we now know the full specs of the OnePlus 8 Pro and the OnePlus 8, courtesy of known tipster, Ishan Agarwal.

What to expect from the OnePlus 8 Pro?

The Pro variant of OnePlus’ next flagship will bring a host of improvements over the brand’s 7T Pro, which was launched last year. To start, the smartphone will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a QHD+ resolution. What’s more, the display is expected to refresh at 120Hz rate too, although it isn’t clear whether the company has enabled support for the same at QHD+ resolution or not.

In terms of performance, the smartphone will be backed by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor, making the device 5G-ready. The leak further claimed that the OnePlus 8 Pro will come with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 memory, which will be paired with either 128GB or 256GB of built-in, non-expandable UFS 3.0 storage. For imaging, the smartphone will reportedly bring forth a quad-camera setup at the back, comprising two 48MP sensors, accompanied by an 8MP and a 5MP sensor. As of writing this story, the use-case of the sensors on the back of the phone is unclear, so stay tuned to our blog for more updates on the same. For selfies, the device will reportedly get a 16MP front camera.

In the battery department, the OnePlus 8 Pro will feature a 4,510mAh cell, which will come with 30W warp charging and 30W wireless charging. The company will also reportedly let the OnePlus 8 Pro reverse wirelessly charge at 3W and the device is expected to come with IP68 certification as well.

What to expect from the OnePlus 8?

Going by the leaks, the OnePlus 8 Pro just might be the brands first, no-compromise flagship. However, the company is clearly sticking to its flagship-killer roots if the leaked specs of the OnePlus 8 are to be believed. Starting with the display, the smartphone will allegedly feature a 6.55-inch panel with an FHD+ resolution. The panel will be Super AMOLED in nature, albeit will refresh at 90Hz and not 120Hz akin to the Pro model.

Driving the performance on the OnePlus 8 will reportedly be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, which much like the Pro variant, will be paired with either 128GB or 256GB of built-in, non-expandable UFS 3.0 storage. That said, per the leak, the OnePlus 8 will not feature LPDDR5 memory and instead, will make come with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, similar to last year’s models.

The camera setup will be slightly different on the OnePlus 8 too, and the device is expected to ship with a triple-camera setup at the back, comprising a 48MP, a 16MP, and a 2MP lens. For selfies, the smartphone will feature a 16MP sensor. Lastly, the OnePlus 8 will purportedly come with a smaller 4,300mAh cell with support for 30W warp charging. Per the leak, the smaller model misses out on features like wireless charging and IP68 certification.
