The 90 Hz displays became common in regular smartphones this year and, we can thank OnePlus for this, as it was one of the first non-gaming brands to equip a device with a 90Hz display. All said and done, the full potential of the 90Hz display is yet to be unlocked. Well, OnePlus users rejoice, since the brand has partnered with PUBG Mobile to bring a 90Hz experience to its users, thus, allowing maximum utilisation of the same. What is this all about and which devices are eligible? Let us find out.
OnePlus 7 Pro, 7T series and OnePlus 8 series devices will be getting support for 90FPS gameplay since these are the devices offered by OnePlus which feature a 90Hz display.
When Does It Start?
Well, since it is early access, the 90FPS option will be available on the OnePlus devices mentioned above from the 6th of August to the 6th of September. This will be on a worldwide basis with exceptions in Mainland China, Japan, and Korea.
“OnePlus is very close with our community of tech enthusiasts, so we know that mobile gamers are looking for a more immersive and smoother experience. That’s exactly what we are delivering with this exclusive 90 FPS experience with PUBG Mobile, one of the world’s most downloaded games”, said Pete Lau, Founder, and CEO of OnePlus.
How to Apply 90 FPS Option?
While the option should be shown front and center in the settings, if in case you cannot find the same, try rebooting your OnePlus device and launch the game. In the settings, you should be able to see the 90 FPS option over there. Note you have to manually select Smooth Graphics Settings, only then you can see the 90 FPS option. Also, this feature will probably trickle down to other devices with a 90Hz display after the exclusive period of a month.
