OPPO India has come up with yet another 5G handset in India — the OPPO A53s 5G. This comes as the fourth 5G smartphone in the country after its Reno and F series smartphones. It packs in the latest MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC and comes under the sub-Rs 15K segment in the country.
OPPO A53s 5G — Tech Specs
The latest 5G device from OPPO carries a conventional dewdrop notch display on the front. It measures 6.52-inches and comes with an HD+ resolution. The display is said to be featuring the premier 4096-grade accurate dimming to protect your eyes while viewing during low lighting scenarios. The smartphone measures 8.4mm in thickness and the display measures an aspect ratio of 20:9, and screen to body ratio of 88.7%. The OPPO A53s 5G features two colour variants — Ink Black and Crystal Blue. For authentication, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which simultaneously acts as a power button as well.
Under the hood
The MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 5G SoC powers the OPPO A53s 5G, underneath. This makes the device 5G capable and it’s an octa-core processor; with two big Cortex A76 cores with promised clock speeds of up to 2.2GGHz. With this SoC, the device is capable to support Dual-SIM 5G too, meaning you can use two 5G SIMs at once; provided whenever it’s ready in our country. In terms of graphics, the chipset utilizes a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
For storage, the OPPO A53s supports up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB (UFS 2.2) of onboard storage. There’s an expandable storage option also available on the device for up to 2TB. Further, OPPO is providing an expandable RAM option too, which utilises virtual RAM to increase the RAM capacity on the device. The device ships with Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1 out of the box.
There’s an AI triple rear camera setup featuring a 13MP f/2.2 primary sensor coupled with a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP bokeh sensor. The rear cameras include dedicated camera modes comprising photo, video, night, expert, panoramic, to name a few. There’s a feature called Extra HD, which when enabled allows users to capture a reconstructed 108MP image using OPPO’s super-resolution algorithm. On the front, the OPPO A535s has an 8MP f/2.2 selfie shooter incorporated in the dewdrop notch display. It also supports an ultra night selfie feature along with AI beautification.
There’s a bigger 5000mAh battery capacity powering the OPPO A53s 5G that promises a talk time of 28.8 hours.
The other highlight features of the OPPO A53s 5G include dual-band Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 5), supports Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and as aforementioned Dual SIM 5G.

The OPPO A53s starts at Rs 14,990 for 6GB+128GB variant and the larger 8GB+128GB variant retails at Rs 16,990. The sale of the device starts on May 2nd, and it will be available for purchase through Flipkart in the country.
