Chinese smartphone major Oppo launched an entry-level device yesterday in the Indian market. The A series handset dubbed Oppo A71 (2018) was earlier launched in 2017 but with a MediaTek chipset. The handset which will be exclusive to online channels like Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal will cost Rs 9,990.
The key features of the Oppo A71 (2018) include an upgraded processor, AI software for better selfies, and face recognition.
The handset now houses an octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC which runs at a speed of 1.8 GHz.The processor should give the Oppo A71 a sizable performance boost as it is based on the 14nm manufacturing process. It adopts the design traits of its predecessor and features a 5.2-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280p. As for the RAM and storage, there’s only one 3GB RAM + 16GB ROM version with support for microSD cards.
Coming to the photography segment, the Oppo A71 (2018) comes with a single 13MP rear shooter with features like Multi-Frame De-Noising Technology and Ultra HD. The former is simply software to reduce noise, while the latter creates 32MP snaps with the help of burst. On the flip side, the front camera is a 5MP snapper with AI face beautification. Moreover, the handset gets rid of the fingerprint reader completely.
On the software side, the smartphone runs Color OS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Further, the battery package of the handset is a 3,000mAh Li-ion cell that powers the phone. Finally, the handset comes with standard connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 4G with VoLTE.
