We recently pointed out the possibility of the Oppo Find X being a curved display device. That was our assumption after reports that Samsung is now supplying its own curved displays to the phone maker. Oppo showed how good it can be with flagship models like the Find 7. And the news of Samsung’s OLED displays coinciding with the Find X official teasers were good enough signs for us to believe our assumptions.
OPPO Find X teased
Well, now Oppo itself has let the cat out of the bag with official twitter teaser. As you can see below, the teaser has the edges highlighted with a curve. And no, Oppo isn’t likely to pull off a Lenovo on us. Oppo does have the resources to make such phones, unlike Lenovo which has to resort to guerilla marketing tactics because of financial constraints.
For those who do like the expensive yet elegant looking OLED panels, this is good news. However, we don’t expect this to be cheap as these panels cost around $100 a pop. Looking at the Find 7 pricing, we could say that they would be priced aggressively, however, this is just assumption.
In related news, Oppo just finished getting legal clearance for two of its Find X models in China last week. Subsequently, specifications from that listing also got out and around the blogger-verse. As per TENAA, the high-end variants will feature a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display powered by a 3,645mAh battery. Moreover, Snapdragon 845 SoC will power at least one of the two handsets. And as for the camera, a 16MP + 20MP rear setup and a 25MP front lone shooter is being touted for the Find X. It has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as revealed by TENAA.
