Of course, OPPO’s Find X launch event is a couple of hours away, but we have already got a detailed look at the device. All thanks to folks at The Verge, who has posted a full four minutes video where the device is showcased in full detail. Let us walk you through what has OPPO got in store for you at the launch event in Paris tonight.
OPPO Find X: Where’s the camera?
Unlike any other smartphone maker, OPPO is trying something unique that we have never seen before on a smartphone. The most interesting aspect of the new Find X is its camera system, which is hidden. Yes, you read that right. While Vivo NEX hides only the selfie camera, OPPO Find X goes above and beyond by hiding both rear and selfie cameras.
How does it do that? By motorizing the top section of the device. When you launch the camera app, the entire top part of the phone pops up and reveals both cameras. The rear camera setup includes 16MP + 20MP dual-cameras setup, where the front houses a 25MP selfie camera. Along with selfie camera, OPPO has introduced a 3D facial scanning system that should be effective face unlock application.
The company claims that its assembly of the camera can pop up within 0.5 seconds after launching the camera app. If you watch the video, you’d see how seamless it has made this operation look-like. At first look we found it to be a replica of Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus’s design, all thanks to curved edges and rounded corners.
