Teasers of the Oppo R15 and R15 Plus have been posted on microblogging platform Weibo today by Oppo. The official teasers don’t reveal much about the phone but some design aspects of the phone have now been confirmed. It’s long been known that Oppo will surely become a proud member of the growing notch family, the head of which is Apple. The R15 will be the first entry in that family.
Now, we don’t even want to start speaking over how Android manufacturers have come to embrace the notch this year. If you’ve been wondering, just note that it is not going anywhere and it is here to stay. The number 13 is considered bad omen in Chinese tradition and that is why Oppo has probably skipped it in the series.
Earlier, the devices appeared on 3C certification authority website with 20W fast charge. Oppo’s VOOC charge graces the R series and the 3C certification means that they could release in the near future. The models that appeared were PAAT00 and PAAM00, previously called R13 and R13 Plus.
Also, the Oppo R15 and R15 Plus will boast of the latest Snapdragon 670 CPU which is not official as of yet. The chipset is said to be built on the 10nm FinFET process and has an Adreno 615 GPU. Both the Oppo R15 and R15 Plus are said to feature a 3D facial recognition system. To top it off, gestures will be introduced on the handset making it the ultimate clone of the iPhone X.
