Oppo recently outed a teaser for the Oppo R15 launch on March 31. However, the handset maker has astonishingly announced the new R15 duo at a media event in Beijing, China.
As it turns out, the leaks have been spot on. The Oppo R15 Dream Mirror is the more powerful of the two with a more powerful processor and better camera.
Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition
The handset has a 6.28-inch OLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The display boasts a 2280 x 1080p resolution with 90 percent screen-to-body ratio.
At the heart of the special edition is the Snapdragon 660 SoC aided by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 3,400mAh battery of the device comes with VOOC fast charging technology. The Oppo R15 Dream Mirror runs brand new Color OS 5.0 flavoured by Android 8.1 Oreo.
The rear camera of the R15 Dream Mirror consists of a 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 sensor and a secondary20-megapixel sensor. This was rumoured earlier and it turned out to be correct. The dual snappers combine to offer HDR, EIS, AI scene recognition and and Bokeh effects. The selfie shooter is a 20MP sensor that has AI Beauty features and supports portrait shots.
The Oppo R15 is pretty much the same device in terms of display, RAM and storage. However, it featues a spanking new MediaTek Helio P60. Also, the rear camera has a 5MP secondary shooter as compared to a 20MP one in the special edition. The Oppo R15 also has the same software onboard as the Dream Mirror Edition.
The Oppo R15 will retail for 999 Yuan ($473 approx.) in White, Red and Purple shades. The Dream Mirror Edition will have two colours with different prices. he Red variant will be carrying a price tag of 3,299 Yuan ($520 approx.) While the Black will cost 3,499 Yuan (~$552) which is becasue of its ceramic build. Sales of both devices start on April 1st.
