It wasn’t long ago when both OPPO and Xiaomi showcased a demo of their under-display camera technologies. While OPPO’s was a prototype, Xiaomi did showcase a more refined and finished product. However, it seems like OPPO’s prototype is actually closer to reality than we presumed. The company has announced that the phone will be launching as soon as by the end of this month.
OPPO to launch Under-Display Camera phone on June 26
As shared by OPPO on its official Weibo handle, the company will be a part of the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2019 Shanghai exhibition. During the exhibition, OPPO will be launching its first Under-Display Camera phone. The event will take place on June 26 in Shanghai.
As opposed to having notches or even pop-up cameras, under display camera technology is something that is much in demand. In fact, many consider it to be a true solution to achieving a bezel-less smartphone. How stable or good it is, is something we will have to wait to see.
Launch date and availability
As of now, there is no word as to when the said phone from OPPO will launch and go on sale. Furthermore, there is no info yet about the kind of hardware that the device will pack in. That said, the device will for sure be unveiled at the event. We expect more info to follow through from OPPO. Stay tuned to Mr. Phone to get notified of all the buzz in the smartphone world.
