Japanese electronics maker Panasonic has launched an entry-level handset in India today. The handset is launched under the Eluga range and is called Eluga 550. It is the first 18:9 aspect ratio display which the company calls ‘Big View Display’.
The handset sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1440p resolution. Panasonic has put a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6737H processor under the chassis supported by 3GB of RAM. Buyers will get 32GB of onboard storage which can be expanded to 128GB via a micro SD slot.
Sadly, it still runs Android 7.0 Nougat on boot backed by a 3,250mAh battery. In the photography department, the Eluga 550 has a 13MP AF rear camera and an 8MP front selfie shooter. It also features a rear fingerprint scanner. The handset measures 152.5 x 73.3 x 8.5mm.
Buyers will also get standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n，2.4G, Bluetooth 4.1, Micro USB 2.0, FM Radio, and a 3.5mm jack.
The Eluga 550 is priced Rs 8,999 and can be bought in Blue, Black & Gold colour options. Availability begins from April 5 exclusive on Flipkart.
