Phones and Tablets running on older Android versions to get Google Assistant

Googlr Assistant on older Android Versions

Google Assistant is getting a lot of attention lately and the credit can be given to its smart searches and features like Google Lens. Google has finally announced that the AI based Assistant will now roll out to phones and tablets which run on the older versions of Android. Android 5.0 Lollipop running phones will receive the Google Assistant and the tablets which run on Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be graced with it as well.

Tablets running Android 6.0 Marshmallow are receiving the Assistant because of its huge popularity and user base. This version of Google’s OS is the most used Android version till now with an install base percentage of 29.7%. This is also the reason behind the search engine giant adding the Assistant to the smartphones which were running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow while earlier, it was introduced to the ones with Android 7.0 Nougat only.
