Google Pixel 4 event scheduled for October 15

Google Pixel 4 - Feature Image

Twenty-eight days from now Google has scheduled its annual hardware event where it announces the much-awaited Pixel 4 and other devices. The Mountain View-giant has shared a media invite stating the date and place of the event. The Pixel event is scheduled on October 15, it will be happening in New York City.

We all await for the Pixel phones eagerly! But unfortunately, with the current pace of leaks, there remains not much to be revealed. It happened with Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Now it has been happening with the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL. There has been a plethora of leaks and rumours we are seeing for a while now.

While the CAD renders and live image leaks gave us enough, a recent hands-on video of Pixel 4 XL popped-up online. It showcases almost everything one can share about a smartphone. And that information is out there a month ahead of the actual release date.

Interestingly, this was the first time that Google teased about its upcoming hardware, months ahead of the launch. Teased with a #Pixel4, Google showed us the back of the phone. This was in early June when the purported images of the Square rear camera setup were being rumoured. Google went ahead and instantly confirmed that rumour is true.

What do we know about the Google Pixel 4/ 4 XL features?

The upcoming Pixel 4 XL is all set to get rid of that big ugly notch. And it is all set to offer that buttery smooth 90Hz display. The settings app in the leaked hands-on video revealed a feature called “Smooth Display”. This feature is said to dynamically switch, refresh rates between, 60Hz and 90Hz. There is believed to be a new “Screen Attention” and “Ambient EQ” feature.

Talking about the specifications of Pixel 4 XL, a CPU Z listing revealed some information. It could be packing a 6.23-inch display with 3040 x 1440 pixel resolution display. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor, accompanied by a 6GB of RAM.

The rear camera setup could have the combination of 12.2MP (Sony IMX363) sensor, along with 16MP telephoto lens (Sony IMX481). The front camera is said to be a 20MP Sony IMX520 sensor. The Pixel 4 is supposed to come with a 5.7-inch full-HD+ OLED display with support for 90Hz refresh rate as well.

A month to go, after which we will learn whether all this information is true or not. Until then, keep coming back to Mr. Phone for more updates on this and other interesting topics.
