Recently, an XDA member revealed that the Redmi K30 Pro might launch under POCO’s banner in India. Unsurprisingly, netizens assumed the smartphone to be the POCO F2, which is the much-awaited successor to the company’s first and only flagship killer, the POCO F1. However, in a virtual interaction held over Zoom today, the company’s GM – C Manmohan – revealed that the POCO F2 will not be a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro and will be a different handset altogether.
Hey POCO fans, we’ll be having our 1st meet-up of 2020 this Monday at 5 PM. I’ll go live with the entire @IndiaPOCO team to answer your questions, take feedback & have some fun.

The GM further added that the POCO F2 is still in development and that the smartphone will not be priced around the Rs 20,000 mark, unlike its predecessor. Consequently, the GM said that fans itching to buy the POCO F2 under the aforementioned price bracket should either opt for the POCO X2, or some other smartphone under Rs 20K.
Hey guys, the home quarantine situation has offered me the luxury to sit back and think. For one – do you guys think POCO should launch other cool tech products apart from smartphones? If so, what do you guys suggest? Vote below!

That’s not all, as the GM also announced that the company is working on a pair of truly wireless earphones. The announcement comes after C Manmohan conducted a poll on Twitter last week, asking fans what other tech products would they like to see under the POCO branding. Unsurprisingly, TWS earbuds won by quite a margin, accumulating 38 percent of the votes and thereby beating other contesting products like a pair of headphones and a fitness band.
To recall, POCO’s parent company Xiaomi already has a bunch of TWS earbuds in its portfolio, however, the brand is yet to bring them to the Indian shores. It’ll be interesting to see if POCO beats Xiaomi to the punch by being early to the TWS scene in India.
For the uninitiated, POCO has two smartphones under its belt, including the famed F1 which was backed by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor and the more recent X2, which is the only device in its segment with a 120Hz display.
