POCO M3 — the much-anticipated smartphone is announced globally. It starts at $149 (Rs 11,100 approx.). The Indian launch or pricing of the POCO M3 is still unknown at this point. The company had launched the new mid-range smartphone through an online-only event globally. While few of its specs and design elements were leaked initially and the company itself confirmed some, but the POCO M3 smartphone is now official.
POCO M3 — Design
The POCO M3 smartphone features a 6.53-inches Full HD+ display, which is a dot drop display (dewdrop display) that beholds the selfie shooter. It is a full-screen display with a screen to body ratio of 90.34% and comes with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It supports Widevine L1 certifications with TÜV Rheinland certification that further comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top.
The Full HD+ display encloses in a lightweight body with rounded corners. The back of the POCO M3 features an anti-fingerprint textured finish. Also, the fingerprint sensor is now integrated into the power/lock button for quicker authentication.
POCO M3 – Specs
The device equips Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 SoC. It is an octa-core processor built on an 11nm process, which supports clock speeds of up to 2.0GHz. There’s Adreno 610 GPU for graphics. It is a 6P lens which comes with f/1.79 aperture — the primary camera couples with a 2MP macro camera and another 2MP depth sensor.
These rear cameras support 1080p video recording at 30fps and also feature slo-mo recording at 120fps. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.05 aperture featuring multiple modes such as AI Beauty, timed selfie, for instance.

In connectivity options, the device supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, IR Blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, and 4G. Lastly, it ships with Android 10-based MIUI 12 out-of-the-box.

Meanwhile, POCO has announced that it is going independent. For those unaware, the company was initially launched as a sub-brand of Xiaomi in 2018 with the launch of POCO F1 smartphone. With entering into 35 global markets, and reaching over 2.2 million shipments and also selling over 6 million devices, POCO now chooses to be an independent international brand.
