After the recent price leaks, Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 Plus have been spotted in a live image which confirms that the phones will arrive with Snapdragon processors! While some of you might not be aware of this, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors are the best in the market and they are found on almost all premium flagship phones. The latest is the Snapdragon 835 and its successor, the Snapdragon 845 will power the Xiaomi phones of 2018!
The Redmi 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 450 chipset and the 5 Plus will run on the Snapdragon 625. While the former is an octa-core processor built on a 14nm process with Adreno 506 GPU, the latter varies from it only in terms of supporting 4K video recording.
Redmi 5 will have a 5.7″ screen with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone will also have three variants with a combination of 2 GB RAM+16 GB ROM, 3 GB RAM+32 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM+64 GB ROM. The device is likely to boast of a 3,200mAh battery as well. It will run Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top. It will also have a 12MP camera on the back and 5MP camera sensor on the front.
Coming to the Redmi 5 Plus, this phone will have a 5.99″ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It will have two variants as well. The combination will be 3 GB RAM+32 GB ROM on the first variant and 4 GB+64GB on the second. This phone will also have a camera setup of 12MP rear+5MP front snapper. This phone will also run will run Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top!
