Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus launched in China last year. The device has not hit the Indian market yet. However, Xiaomi can launch the smaller version of this phone, the Redmi 5, on February 14th in New Delhi. Coming back to the Redmi 5 Plus, the phone is all set to receive gesture navigation in an upcoming update.
OnePlus 5T was the latest device to receive the navigation gestures as they were introduced to the world through the iPhone X. The feature is all set to reach the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in the near future though nothing is known about its stability so far.
The navigation gestures will be a little different on the device than the other phones. If you swipe up from the bottom, it will take you to the home screen of your phone. Additionally, if you swipe up from the bottom and then pause, multitasking will be activated. By swiping up to the side, you will be navigated to the previous action. Hence, the back function of the device is a little different than the iPhone X and OnePlus 5T.
Along with this, Xiaomi is also likely to extend gesture navigation to all its bezel-less devices including the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 7 as well.
