Update (10/12/2020): Redmi India is introducing new Redmi 9 Power smartphone in the Indian market. The launch will take place through an online event on December 17 at noon. While the company doesn’t specify the device’s details yet — expect revealing that it would be featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.

The earlier report below suggested a rebranded Redmi Note 9 4G, which was recently launched in the Chinese market. The teaser images on Mi India website suggest it would feature a triple rear cameras setup similar to Note 9 4G Chinese variant. Further, the power-packed battery on the teaser image also implies a bigger battery, could be a 6000mAh one as witnessed in the Chinese variant. Well, since its an Indian release, after all, we could expect it to be slightly tweaked from the Chinese Redmi Note 9 4G variant.

Redmi 9 Power with Snapdragon 662 SoC and 6000mAh battery tipped to launch in India on December 15th
Redmi 9 Power is the new smartphone from the company, which is tipped to launch on December 15th. As the end of the year is nearing, there seems no end of new phone launches yet. This new phone from Redmi will add to its current Redmi 9 lineup. Popular tipster Mukul Sharma (aka @stufflisitings) has put up the launch details through his Twitter account.
Not long ago, Redmi launched its Redmi Note 9 5G series in China. The trio of those included a Redmi Note 9 4G device, which is believed to be tweaked and dubbed as Redmi 9 Power for the Indian market.
Redmi 9 Power — Rebranded Redmi Note 9 4G
The reports indicate that this upcoming Redmi 9 Power is a slightly tweaked version of the Redmi Note 9 4G smartphone. In comparison, it also moderately resembles the recent POCO M3 device in terms of specifications. The Redmi 9 Power will also feature these similar specs including the Snapdragon 662 chipset. It is an octa-core CPU featuring clock speeds of up to 2GHz.
The device’s few more proposed specifications include 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of onboard storage. The tweaked version applies here compared to the Redmi Note 9 4G device as for cameras. It featured triple rear cameras comprising — a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. The reports here indicate the tweaked imminent Redmi 9 Power will come with an additional 2MP sensor making it a quadruple-camera setup.
We can also expect the device to feature massive 6000mAh battery capacity with the company’s 18W fast charge support. It could further ship with Android 10-based MIUI 12 out of the box.
Redmi 9 Power — Expected Pricing
The tipster indicates the Redmi 9 Power could come at pricing somewhere between Rs 10,000-15,000. In comparison, the POCO M3 retails at around Rs 11,000 and the Chinese Redmi Note 9 4G also comes at Rs 11,300 approximately in their respective markets.
