Xiaomi has a lot going on (well they always have a lot going on) especially with its next year plans. After we learnt that an alleged Redmi Pro 2 phone is coming in January next year, we have learned that the Chinese manufacturer could possibly take on other Android Go smartphones with its Redmi Go smartphone.
A new affordable Redmi member could be arriving soon with special abilities. The speciality being running a low-end Android operating system. If you’re not familiar with this programme, well, it is Google’s side project to keep low-end specification phones to run on the latest software. Thus, not rendering them to early extinction.
Redmi Go: Xiaomi’s new affordable phone
As per the report first popping up on a tech blog, Nashville Chatter, Xiaomi’s Android Go smartphone sporting model number M1903C3GG has received its FCC and EEC certification, respectively in the United States and Russia. But unfortunately, these two sources didn’t confirm the name of the phone.
However, interestingly a Xiaomi phone with Redmi Go sporting same model number has popped up on Singapore’s IMDA certification. So, that’s something concrete about the naming other than the fact that Xiaomi could announce its new handset globally.
According to the certification agencies, this new Android is found to be running on Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) operating system out-of-the-box. Further, it is believed to sport an 18:9 aspect ratio display and a 1GB of RAM. It would be offering support for dual SIM, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity.
In terms of the pricing, it would set out to be an affordable smartphone, so expect a sub Rs 10,000 pricing. What do you guys think of this Xiaomi Redmi Go phone? Would you be interested to see this coming to India? Let us know in the comment section below.
