Xiaomi has a lot of smartphones under its belt but the one that has made them a household name is their Redmi Series. Of these Redmi smartphones, the Redmi Note devices have unarguably been the most successful with millions of devices sold every month. The successor to the Redmi Note 4 has been in the works for quite a while now and today we bring you some of the latest leaks on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
The Redmi Note 5 was spotted on Geekbench 4 with the Qualcomm MSM8952 chipset, aka Snapdragon 617 inside. That’s certainly going to let some of you down as earlier rumors suggested a much more powerful Snapdragon 660. Well, don’t lose hope since it’s very early and the unstable software on the test phone may have very well produced wrong information. Even the benchmark scores don’t match up with the Snapdragon 617 and are much closer to what a Snapdragon 653 would score.
Earlier rumors suggest that the Redmi Note 5 will indeed come with an 18:9 bezel-less LCD panel on the front and a powerful 16MP+5MP dual camera setup on the back. The device is expected to come with a price tag of $150, which is perfect given the specs. Stay tuned to Mr. Phone for more on the Redmi Note 5.
