The Redmi Note 5 will be the successor of the bestseller, the Redmi Note 4. The phone has been confirmed to launch in the second quarter of 2018. A report claims that the phone will definitely launch in this year. The Redmi Note 4 was launched in January last year and the primary reason behind Xiaomi’s delay is the release of Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor.
This processor can be a digression since the Redmi Note 4 was launched with the Snapdragon 636 processor. However, in defense of the Snapdragon 632, the processor has an ability to optimize a dual camera setup, better than the Snapdragon 625. The processor has a lower clock speed but this feature sets it apart from the others and since a dual camera setup is in demand, it is justified on Xiaomi’s part.
The Redmi Note 5 is likely to support a combination of 12MP + 12MP sensors on the back. It is likely to have a 5.99-inch display with the trending 18:9 aspect ratio, which will pave the way to a near bezel-less display. The phone is expected to have 4GB RAM and could be priced at Rs 15,500 approximately.
These specs are speculated rumors and you would do well to take them with a grain of salt.
