Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro launched in China

One of the most anticipated launches of the year in the budget segment is finally here. Xiaomi has taken the wraps off of the Redmi Note 8 and the Note 8 Pro in China. The smartphones offer exceptionally great value for money considering their features along with the price tag. Let’s take a look.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 specifications

The Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inch FullHD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340. It offers a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, with a screen to body ratio of 90%. The device comes with a quad-camera setup at the back, comprising of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro lens as well. You also get a 13MP camera up front for selfies.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 665 SoC. The device is juiced by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. You get a Type-C port with a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. The back is build out of glass as well and you get Gorilla Glass 5 protection on it as well.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro specifications

The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 6.53-inch FullHD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340. It offers a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, with a screen to body ratio of 91.4%. The device comes with a quad-camera setup at the back, comprising of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro lens as well. You also get a 20MP camera up front for selfies.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek G90T SoC. The device is juiced by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. You get a Type-C port with a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. The back is build out of glass as well and you get Gorilla Glass 5 protection on it as well. It also comes with Liquid Cooling for longer hours of gaming. The company has also launched a gaming controller attachment for it, priced at RMB 179 (~Rs. 1,800).

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro price and availability

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has been priced at RMB 999 (~Rs. 10,000) for the 4GB+64GB variant, RMB 1199 (~Rs. 12,000) for 6GB+64GB, and RMB 1399 (~Rs. 14,000) for 6GB+128GB. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will be available in three variants. The 6GB+64GB variant has been priced at RMB 1399 (~Rs. 14,000). The 6GB+128GB variant is priced at RMB 1599 (~Rs. 16,000) while the 8GB+128GB variant has been priced at RMB 1799 (~Rs. 18,000). As of now, there is no word as to when the device will make its way to India. However, with the announcement of the Realme XT, we expect the Note 8 series to make its way to India soon as well.
