Redmi Watch debuted in China alongside the new Redmi Note 9 series. Redmi became an independent brand last year, and its parent company Xiaomi makes a bunch of smart fitness trackers with Mi Smart Band 5 being the latest. Despite Redmi Watch being the new entrant to the smartwatch category it still functions as a fitness tracker at its core with extra perks and more prominent display.
The Redmi Watch retails at CNY 299 (Rs 3,400 approx.). The Indian launch of the new smartwatch is still unclear at this moment.

Redmi Watch — Design
The Redmi Watch features a traditional smartwatch look with a square shaped 2.5D curved tempered glass display that measures 1.4-inches with 320 x 320 resolution and 323ppi. The Redmi Watch display also features over 120 dial/ watch faces.
The multi-colour display further encloses in a multi-colour body as well. There are three colour options when it comes to watch bodies that include — Elegant Black, Ivory and Ink Blue. These Redmi Watch bodies are accompanied by five colour straps that match with the colours above in addition to Cherry Blossom powder and Pine Needle Green colour. The straps here are claimed to be TPU skin-friendly.
On the whole, the design of the Redmi Watch fairly follows the Apple Watch design aesthetic in terms of display, watch faces and even the colour choices. In comparison, it is still relatively cheap and offers only fitness tracker functionality.
Redmi Watch — Features
The Redmi Watch is said to be 5 ATM waterproof for up to 50 meters. It features seven sport modes — running, cycling, and indoor swimming, for instance. It weighs around 35g and features health monitoring activities like — a thirty-day resting heart tracking with optical heart rate sensor, sleep monitoring, and breathing training as well. There’s a built-in microphone on the Redmi Watch with which a user can interact with Xiao AI, Xiaomi’s very own digital assistant.
The connectivity options of this smartwatch include Bluetooth 5.0, and there’s multifunctional NFC support. For Chinese consumers, it appears to be a handy feature for their subway or citybus commute and NFC payments via Alipay. Further, this smartwatch allows users to control their smart home devices like air purifiers or smart speakers/bulbs/air-conditioners, to name a few.
Redmi Watch — Battery
There’s a 230mAh battery underneath the Redmi Watch. It promises to deliver a seven-day battery life with a two-hour single charge. There’s long-life battery mode, which further increases battery life for up to twelve-days.
