Amidst the on-going tariff wars, Reliance Jio is giving away free 10GB data packs to select customers who use Jio data. The add-on data arrived on the occasion of Holi and as a result, it was believed that this was a Holi limited offer. But, it is now being reported that it is Jio’s way of saying thank you to users of the network and not specific to Holi. It seems that users of JioTV are getting the 10GB add-on credits. JioTV is the telco’s app that streams a lot of live channels on the phone.
Not for everyone
Still, this is not an offer for everyone, the service is automated meaning that some will get the 10GB and some will not. But you can call Jio on their toll-free number 1299 and try your luck. According to some users, calling on this number has got them the 10GB data.
The add-ons get credited into your account can be checked in the MyJio app. The validity will be till March 27, 2018. The add-on pack gets used on top of your existing plan.
Of course, the company’s data plans are ass lucrative as they get, but offers like these ensure that users don’t jump ship. Currently, an add-on of 6GB costs Rs 101. Meanwhile, Jio’s competitors are wrestling it with as many enticing plans and the war has eroded a lot of profits from the telecom segment.
