How much RAM do you think is more than enough for a smartphone? 4GB? 6GB? 8GB? Whatever your opinion is, Vivo might overwhelm you with a smartphone equipped with 10GB of RAM, rumours floating on Weibo suggest. OPPO and Vivo have been at the forefront of innovation this year, with the latter earning accolades for the first on-screen fingerprint smartphone of the planet. Then, the company showcased the awesome Apex, which is set to be in consumer’s hands by next month. Now, talk around Chinese water coolers is that Vivo is also planning on launching a smartphone with 10GB of RAM.
While much about the handset remains undercover, but the rumour suggests the handset might arrive with a Snapdragon 660 SoC. Also, it is tipped to launch next month. The handset maker has been trying to do a lot of industry firsts this year, and 10GB would be an easy way to grab more headlines. Although, the utility of such an implementation will still be questionable, as far as the average user is concerned.
Currently, the crown of all Vivo innovation is the Nex that has 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. If Vivo were to announce a smartphone with 10GB of RAM, it is more sensible that it should be a flagship. Hence, the Snapdragon 660 rumour is suspicious. As a matter of fact, the whole rumour itself can’t be verified and should be digested with caution.
The most recent rumour that talked about a 10GB RAM Vivo phone was around a couple of months back, about the Vivo X Play 7. It was also supposed to come with 512GB of storage as well. Well, we will have to wait and watch.
