The phones are succeeding the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017).
Let’s find more about the devices and discuss in detail.
Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) – specs, price, and availability
Galaxy A8 (2018)
The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) has a 5.6″ display with a super AMOLED Panel and the resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels. The phone also features the trending aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and the Infinity Display design of the Galaxy S8. Due to this, the A8 (2018) gives a premium feel and its other specs succeed in living up to its looks.
Apart from the display and design, the Galaxy A8 (2018) features a dual front camera setup with a combination of 16 MP+ 8MP camera sensors with f/1.9 aperture. The front snappers are capable of clicking scintillating shots in Bokeh mode and adding a Blur effect to the pictures as well. The rear camera of the phone has a 16 MP sensor as well but it lacks image stabilization.
The phone comes in two variants where the first one carries a ROM of 32 GB coupled with 4 GB RAM and the second variant has a combination of 4 GB RAM+ 64 GB ROM. It is powered by an octa-core processor but it has not been revealed if it’s their own Exonys processor or the one from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon.
The phone is IP68 dust and water resistant, has a 3,300mAh battery and runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. Wait! Isn’t Oreo available on the market since months?! The phone supports fast charging through its USB Type-C Port.
Galaxy A8+ (2018)
The Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) is quite similar to the Galaxy A8 (2018). The only difference lies in its screen size which is 6.2-inch. The phone has the same Infinity Display design which gives it a premium feel with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. In optics department, the A8+ (2018) is identical to the smaller phone with the same 16 MP+ 8 MP selfie snappers and a 16 MP main shooter.
The other noteworthy difference is that the two variants of the Galaxy A8+ (2018) vary not only in terms of internal storage but their RAM as well. The first variant has a combination of 4 GB RAM+ 32 GB ROM while the second variant houses 6 GB RAM with 64 GB ROM.
The phone has a humongous 3,500mAh battery and the same octa-core processor. The device also runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat and supports fast charging.
This is the first A-series to support the Gear-VR and we must applaud Samsung for bringing the same into such a price range.
