Samsung is all set to stir up the Indian smartphone market, again. This time the brand could hit the price segment between Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000. The Galaxy M series is supposed to get a new member. After the launch of M10, M20, and M30, Samsung Galaxy M40 seems to be in the pipeline for a launch in India.
This exclusive news was broke by none-other than young leakster, Ishan Agarwal on his twitter handle. Let’s talk about the information we now know about the rumored Samsung handset below.
Update (27/05/2019): Samsung Galaxy M40 could pack a 32MP rear camera; India launch set for June 11
Samsung has a new handset lined up for launch next month and its the Galaxy M-series. The Galaxy M40 is said to offer the highest resolution camera in its line-up. The Galaxy M40 is believed to sport a 32MP rear camera and a 16MP selfie camera in that punch-hole design. Amazon and Samsung have started to tease the handset on their respective channels. And it feels like a good excitement from where we stand.
Update (27/05/2019): Galaxy M40 to be launched on 11th June, priced around Rs. 20,000
Just hours after the previous leaks, we’ve got word that the Samsung Galaxy M40 will be launched in India on June 11. The teasers and promos for the same would be coming around soon on both Samsung’s website as well as on Amazon. As for the device itself, reports suggest that it will come with a Snapdragon 675 under the hood and will feature a triple-camera setup at the back. Lastly, as suggested earlier, the device will not be priced near the 25K mark. Instead, the Galaxy M40 is now suggested to be priced near the Rs. 20,000 mark, making it much affordable for the masses.

Ishan goes and straight up says that the new Samsung phone won’t have a standard earpiece. But Samsung would rather be introducing a technology that will allow sound to come from the display. It sounds the South Korean giant has cracked some innovation in this field to provide such technology at such price point.
While that could receive mixed reactions, we know that removal of 3.5mm audio jack from a Samsung mid-range handset might not be taken positively by the market. Yes, Samsung is all set to say goodbye to the one headphone jack on its next phone.
As far as the design and feel are concerned, Ishan quotes, “Externally, it looks Same as Galaxy A60”. I would go ahead and say that Samsung doesn’t have the tendency to repeat its design between its different series. And it may be the case for M40 as well.
The Galaxy M40 is supposed to come in three different colours with a gradient look on the back. From the looks of the pictures shared, we also know that it will be sporting the punch-hole display design. Thus, making the second punch-hole display smartphone in India from the house of Samsung.
