Samsung Galaxy Note series — To be discontinued in 2021

Reuters report suggests that Samsung presently is not in any plans to develop the new Note series for the year 2021. This move from Samsung foresees to reflect a sheer drop in demand for all the high-end devices amidst the ongoing pandemic.

As stated earlier, discontinuing the Note series would be bringing its famous ‘S pen’ to the upcoming Galaxy S21 lineup. There would be multiple variants of the Galaxy S21 series, one of which could come with ‘S pen support’, the report implies.

Furthermore, the next Galaxy Fold series smartphones might also support this ‘S pen’ for its folding screens. However, the ‘S pen’ would be sold separately here and doesn’t come as part of the Galaxy Fold series. The report further indicates while the research and development team that usually work on the next Note series every year are likely to shift to Galaxy Fold series’ R&D.

There have been several reports and rumours in the past, indicating the Galaxy Note series discontinuation. Samsung reportedly declined to comment on this with Reuters. Nonetheless, the new report indeed adds weight to those tales. If these reports are said to be true then the Galaxy Note 20 series might be the last Note series.
