Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is the new smartphone from the company coming with 5G capabilities in India. While the 5G has been set to flagship series in the country, Samsung is planning to expand the portfolio to the lower tier and starts with the toned-down version of last year’s flagship. For those unaware, the company has introduced Galaxy S20 FE in the last quarter of 2020. While it offered all the goodies from the flagship S20 series it stuck to Exynos 990 instead of Snapdragon 865; only to get it released as the new Galaxy S20 FE 5G in 2021. The device now has Snapdragon 865, bringing in the 5G capabilities for the Indian market.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G — Display
The 5G Galaxy S20 FE has a 6.5-inches sAMOLED display featuring 120Hz refresh rates. It is an in-house developed Infinity-O display from Samsung with touch sampling rates of 240Hz. The device on the back comes with a premium textured haze effect that minimizes fingerprints and smudges, according to Samsung. The colour options comprise — Cloud Navy. Cloud Mint, and Cloud Lavender. Further, the device also features IP68 water and dust resistance rating.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G — Hardware
As aforementioned, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G comes with a Snapdragon 865 SoC, not the latest, but the first 5G capable chipset from Qualcomm, featured in all prominent flagships, last year. The octa-core SoC uses Kryo 585 CPU and Adreno 650 GPU; the promised clock speeds include up to 2.84Hz. The device further comes in a single storage option featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. There’s an expandable storage option, which involves up to 1TB via microSD.
Cameras
The Galaxy S20 FE 5G has a triple rear camera setup; it includes a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera coupled with a 12MP wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera. On the front, the punch hole beholds a 32MP f/2.2 selfie shooter. The rear cameras here support up to 30x Space Zoom, and have a single take feature supporting up to fourteen formats. Further, there’s creative video shooting that lets you switch between front and rear cameras on a real-time basis. For better low light photography, there’s Night Mode as well.
Battery
The device comes with a decent 4500mAh battery capacity with fast charging capability of up to 25W. There’s wireless charging 2.0 too, which is convenient.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G comes at an introductory price of Rs 47,999 starting March 31st in the country. This includes an instant cashback of Rs 8,000, while the market operating price (MOP) is Rs 55,999. It is available for purchase through Samsung.com, Amazon India, and leading retail stores, across the country.
