Samsung’s upcoming flagship has been leaked multiple times. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ were rumoured to be launched at the CES 2018. However, all we got was an announcement about their release in the MWC 2018. Keeping in line with this announcement, Samsung has started dispatching press invites for its event in Barcelona during the MWC 2018. The phones will be launched on February 25 during this Samsung event.
The poster has “9” and “The Camera. Reimagined.” written on it.
Thus we can expect to see some major camera upgrades on these phones. The devices are speculated to look similar on the front. Both the phones will carry the same 18:5:9 aspect ratio display. The camera setup is likely to be redesigned with a fingerprint sensor placed below it.
Adding to it, some leaks have shown that the Galaxy S9 will have a single rear camera setup while the Galaxy S9+ will come with dual rear cameras. The frame rates on slow motion are also expected to be higher at 1080p @ 480fps. Sony is known for its Xperia XZ Premium which has frame rates of nearly 1000fps. If this goes on, we can expect more phones with frame rates higher than 240fps by Samsung.
The phones are also speculated to have a faster wireless charging at their disposal. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are likely to open pre-orders from February 26. The devices will start shipping from March 16.
