Galaxy A6

Samsung has launched not one or two but four new smartphones in India today. This included the two new A series phones, the Galaxy A6 and A6+ as we expected. But it also includes the Galaxy J8 and Galaxy J6, the former of which we did not expect to see. So let’s just get to number crunching, shall we?

The Galaxy A6 duo aren’t complete strangers to us as Samsung has already launched it in some other regions across the globe. They are stripped down versions of the Galaxy A8 that come with a price tag of Rs 21,990 for the A6 (32GB) and Rs 25,990 for the A6+.

Galaxy A6/A6+ Specifications

For that price, both handsets have been stripped of their glass construction and are pure metal at the back. Looks-wise they’re both the same but underneath they differ in most areas. The front of the device holds an HD+ Infinity Display of 5.6-inches in the case of the A6. While the bigger sibling rocks a 6.0-inch Full HD+ panel. Both of them rock different processors too. The Galaxy A6 has an Exynos 7870 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. While the Galaxy A6+ packs a Snapdragon 450 chip.

The Galaxy A6+ being the more premium offering has dual rear cameras. To be precise, It is a 16MP+5MP combo with f/1.7 and f/1.9 aperture respectively. On the flip side, the front has an Instagram-ready 24MP shooter on paper. The smaller A6 sports a single 16MP rear camera on both the front and back side. Both the handsets have the fingerprint reader placed below the cameras.

Understandably, the smaller Galaxy A6 has a smaller 3,000mAh battery compared to the 3,500mAh juice pack of the A6+. Both dual-SIM handsets have Android Oreo from the bootup and micro-SD slots as well. Both also come ready with 4G VoLTE support.
